The bandola is the tenor voice of the mandolin family. With a larger body and a longer string length than the mandolin, it is usually tuned a fifth lower (C–G–D–A, like the viola), giving a warmer, rounder sound.
It is a natural choice for mandolin orchestras, tunas and traditional ensembles, and for mandolin players looking for a deeper voice.
The most common build configurations are:
| Top | Basswood, Spruce |
| Back and sides | Mahogany, Cedar |
| Neck | Poplar, Mahogany, Cedar |
| Fingerboard | Panga Panga, Rosewood, Ebony |
| Tuning mechanism | Portuguese fan tuners, machine heads |
Every instrument is set up in our workshop for its player. Get in touch or visit us at Rua de Santana, 37, Porto.
