Viola Amarantina (Amarantina Guitar)

This is one of the several portuguese regional guitars that continue to resist evolution while it maintains the original structure almost unchanged.

Nowadays, there is a significant effort to preserve the identity of this guitar, recovering and recording the different tunings and ways of play.

The mouth of Viola Amarantina, consisting of 2 separate hearts, is associated with a love story like Romeo and Juliet. It is about a couple that lived in the town of Amarante.

In its different configurations of construction, these are the most popular:

Top: Linden, Spruce

Sidesand back:  Walnut, Rosewood

Neck:  Mahogany

Fretboard: Wenge, Rosewood, Ebony
