The Cavaquinho is probably the most played traditional strings instrument  in Portugal.
Originally from Minho (north of Portugal), it is part of all traditional toccata in northern Portugal.

In its different configurations of construction, these are the most popular:

Top:Linden, Spruce, Spruce + Rosewood

Sidesand back: Walnut, Maple, Cherry, Rosewood

Neck: Lime, Poplar, Mahogany, Cedar

Fretboard: Wengé,Rosewood, Ebony
